Achacho accident..

Lot of thinking went on whether I shud pen this incident or not.. Guess I want to ;)

I met with an accident last wednesday.. I was coming back from a treat after meeting friends around 10 AM in RT Nagar (I live in Bangalore).. I drive a little responsibly.. I enjoy the sheer pleasure of riding a bike rather than speed.. When I was leaving my friend around 9:30 at night, she told me to lock the helmet around my head which I seldom do but I had to listen to her (girls u knw ;))

so, I reached RT nagar around 10 PM at night just 1 KM away from my house. There was a sumo coming in the opposite side and I was just about 30 m away. Out of nowhere, a honda dio bike tried to overtake the sumo from the right side.. He was travelling pretty fast (around 60 kmph it would be). Now, the obvious happens..

He lost control and came on the wrong side.. I had little time to react..I used to think that when I meet with an accident there would be thousand things going on my mind at that very instant (too much movie influence.. I knw ;)) Was expecting something dramatic.I shud say I was thoroughly disappointed :-( I remember him hitting the right side of my bike.. Thats all. Next thing I knw I hit my head very hard on the road.. I was lying down with my bike on me..

I got up. There were several ppl askin if I need some water.. i got up.. Checked myself. My some miracle (really it is), I was ok except with few scratches on my hand and hip.. I cant say the same for my darling.. My bike's right side was totally gone..She was in a very bad shape.. I have never let even a scratch fall on her before.. I was broken to see the state of her.. I definitely couldnt believe that nothing happened to my leg after  that kind of a damage to my darling..

The dio guy also had some injuries. Luked like he went on to hit another scooter. Unfortunately a kid was there on the scooter and he was also hurt.. I yelled at him for sometime and headed to the police station.. Tried to call suresh (our kannada guru ;)) but my battery was dead.There was a coin phone booth near by. Went ahead and called him..

Guys were nearby in Dominos and a swarm of 4-5 bikes arrived in 2 mins.. we all went to normal police station first and then to traffic police station on their remark.. Filed the complaint and came back home..

Had a very bad headache for the next two days. went to the hospital. Didnt go to office :D

So there goes my second accident. (first is not so much.. I was still learning then u knw ;))

8 Am on a Thursday!!!

Did u see railway budget 2012?? 5 p/km raise for sleeper tickets :-(. Lukd like a big amount when I saw first but not so much when I calculated. I travel by sleeper class by 327 kms once in around 2 months.. This increase in fare would amount to around 16 rs increase.

My train ticket costs 171 with booking charges and now it would become 187. Going by bus would cost me 140+32+20 = 182. Atleast I get to sleep on train.. :D

I don knw what the fuss with TMC going against their own MP. There are not even the opposition COL.. Train ticket prices havent risen in 10 years now and they still shout for raising this meagre amount!!!

Of course you may say not a small amount in long term but how do you generate revenue without a little rise in price. I dont think ppl would travel by sleeper class regularly. Its generally used by ppl travelling once in a month at the max. Its 3p/km for express.

You keep complaining that the trains are not good and frequency is less (India has the fourth longest railway lines in the world.. Atleast I read it somewhere) or the trains are not upto international standard.. How do you expect to improve the standard without a little expense. Just opposing a good bill for political reason is not fair. I am not an expert but I believe this is the only thing close to a proper bill brought up by congress in a long time..

Of course you may argue that whatever revenue you create the politicians are going to swallow it.. I completely agree. This is written assuming that India is corruption free(ROFL).. .
